COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES

  • Urban Farm Bike Tours: Organized, promoted and sponsored a third annual Philadelphia Urban Farms Bike Tour in July, 2008. Ridership and interest has continued to grow since the great success of the first one, which I organized for Farm Aid in the fall of 2006.
  • Board Work: On the board of Mill Creek Farm in West Philly. Working to upgrade their web site: www.millcreekurbanfarm.org
  • Local Food System Action: Actively involved in the Common Market project--creating a local foods distribution center in Philadelphia.
  • More Board Work: Serve on the Weavers Way Food Co-op Board as Treasurer.
  • Urban Farming Initiative: Actively involved on the Farm Committee of Weavers Way--a dynamic, professionally-run urban farm that supplies produce, wholesale, to the coop and restaurants--as well as selling through local farmers' markets.

Web Sites In Development

  • Swarthmore Food Cooperative, one of the oldest food cooperatives in the country, is doing a major make-over of their web site, with a wide range of interactive features.
  • Also in development: web sites for two local lawyers, a wood turner, a interactive museum exhibit developer, an international management consultant firm based in Philadelphia, a fencing company and more.
