weavers way urban farm bike ride

  • For the past eight years, Chris Hill has planned and led an urban farm bike ride that attracts around 150 riders a year, and visits 12 to 15 urban farms in the city. The route and locations changes extensively each year. The event benefits Weavers Way Community Programs.
  • Chris Hill has served actively for seven years on the board of Weavers Way Food Cooperative. He currently serves on the Weavers Way Farm Committee, which provides support to the farm operations of the Cooperative. He also served on the Mill Creek Urban Farm board for over nine years before resigning at the end of 2013.
  • He actively serves on the steering committee of a newly developed cooperative organization: the Philadelphia Area Cooperative Alliance, which is devoted to improving the lives of people in the Philadelphia region by supporting democratically organized businesses, promoting the principles of the international cooperative movement, and growing the cooperative economy.
  • He has also volunteered for a variety of other organizations, including Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture, Common Market Local Food Distribution Initiative and Mid-Atlantic Food Cooperative Alliance (MAFCA)
